The objective of the Merseyside Trainee Solicitors Group

The objective of the Merseyside Trainee Solicitors Group is two-fold. We aim to organise rendezvous and events on a monthly basis for our members from all kinds of firms and backgrounds to get together. We also aim to provide a support network for our members as and when required.

In particular, we want to help trainees and students to make friends and get to know colleagues in an informal environment, usually over a few complimentary drinks, thus making the whole experience of moving to Merseyside and/or starting a training contract less daunting. We also want to provide support and assistance in a variety of ways, particularly to trainees from smaller firms who may be the only trainee in their firm and hence feel they have nobody to share their experiences with.

Becoming a member…

The Merseyside Trainee Solicitors Group is part of the national Trainee Solicitors Group and is open to all PGDL, LPC and CPE students, all trainee solicitors, paralegals up to two years post-completion of the LPC and newly-qualified solicitors up to one year post-qualification in the Merseyside area.

Membership is free and automatic upon enrolment as a student member of the Law Society.

As you can see from our Events Page, we hold regular social events in Liverpool and Chester to allow our members to meet each other and we can also provide support and information about training and recruitment.
